Lead Video Editor (AKA Absolute Editing Monster)
The editor IS the content.
We usually respond within a day
We're MindAlter Studio. We build AI characters — not branded content, not client work, not some agency's social strategy. Actual characters. With personalities, audiences, storylines, and fans who pay real money to follow them.
We run 12+ of these characters across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. They're generating $500K+/mo in revenue. And they're growing.
Here's the thing nobody outside our walls understands yet: the edit is the character. The pacing, the cuts, the timing, the hook, the emotional beat — that's not post-production. That's the performance. There is no shoot to save. There is no director's cut to honor. There's a character, a concept, and your timeline. That's it.
The editor doesn't support the content. The editor IS the content.
What you'd actually be doing.
Forget deliverables and KPIs for a second. Here's what your day looks like:
You open a project. There's an AI character — maybe a chaotic Southern girl, a philosophical gym bro, or a mysteriously anxious art student. They have a voice, a world, a fanbase. Your job is to make 15–60 seconds of content that makes someone stop scrolling, feel something, follow, and come back tomorrow.
You decide the hook. You decide the pacing. You decide the rhythm. You decide where the joke lands. You decide where the silence sits. You decide what makes this character feel alive instead of generated.
And sometimes you'll look at the raw material and say "this isn't cuttable — here's what I need instead." The Brand Managers work for the content, and you set the standard for what that content needs to be. If the source footage isn't there, you don't polish it and hope — you push back and tell the team exactly what to change.
Then you do it again. And again. Across a portfolio of characters that each need to feel like a completely different creator made them.
This role is NOT for you if:
You think editing is the last step in a production pipeline
You need a storyboard and a shot list before you can start cutting
Your portfolio is full of 10-minute YouTube vlogs and wedding receptions
You describe yourself as "detail-oriented" and "proficient in Adobe Suite"
You've never made something specifically for a phone screen
You think AI content means it's low effort
This role IS for you if:
You've watched your own edit 40 times because you're obsessed with where the cut falls
You think in hooks, not intros
You can feel when a video is 0.3 seconds too long
You've edited for creators or personality-driven accounts and your cuts are why they grew
You understand that the first frame matters more than the last
You've made a 20-second clip that outperformed a 10-minute video and you know exactly why
You treat every single piece like it's going on your reel
You've been waiting for someone to pay you what you're actually worth

Check out @laclynnkimmm on Instagram. Study the pacing, the cuts, the hooks. That feeling you get when you can't scroll past — that's what we're hiring for.
What we're offering. For real.
$75–150K base salary. Yes. Read it again. You have to be really good.
On top of that:
Performance-based bonuses tied to content growth. Your edits drive retention and follows — you get paid when they perform. This almost doesn't exist anywhere else in creative. We know.
Full creative ownership. No client approvals. No brand guidelines written by someone who's never opened a timeline. No "can we try it with different music." You own the cut.
A portfolio of 12+ characters to work across. Variety, range, creative freedom. Not the same brand voice on repeat for 18 months until you lose your mind.
AI-native production environment. We're not afraid of AI — we're built on it. You'll work with tools most editors won't touch for another 3 years.
Remote. Work from wherever your setup is. We care about what comes out of your timeline, not what timezone you're in.
What we need from you.
1. A reel or portfolio link. Not your LinkedIn. Your work. Short-form content you've edited that you're genuinely proud of. If you don't have one, this isn't the right time.
2. A short note (2–3 sentences max) answering this: Pick any short-form video on the internet right now that you think is perfectly edited. Link it and tell us why.
That's it. No cover letter. No "dear hiring manager." Just your work and your taste. We won't review applications without these 2 things.
Who we are, briefly.
We're building one of the most ambitious projects at the intersection of AI and internet culture. The characters exist. The systems work.
We're now scaling to build the most successful AI-native influencer brands on the internet. We move fast, ship constantly, and iterate based on data. No endless meetings. No bureaucracy. We value obsessive ownership, bias toward action, low ego, high accountability, and comfort with edgy, unconventional content.
If you naturally improve everything you touch and thrive in ambiguity — you'll fit right in. If you want a place where your creative instincts truly matter — and where you can see the direct impact of what you build across an entire portfolio — this is it.
How to apply.
We're currently hiring from the United States, Canada, South America, and Europe.
Send your reel + your "perfectly edited video" pick and tell us where you're from. If we like what we see, we'll set up a call within 48 hours. No 6-round interview gauntlet. We'll know fast and so will you.
